Forest Series

The forest series explores the natural physical environment.
I relate aspects of time, energy, movement, rhythm and regeneration being acutely aware of nature’s vulnerability and fragility.
Each component is freestanding, narrow, linear and upright and of hand chiselled wood with metal detail. Each work rests on a bed of unadorned limestone. As in a forest with its varying abundance of flora my subject matter varies. Within the parameters I have set each component is aboreal like in its tall linear aspect and the series viewed as a whole becomes a forest. These works embrace the vigorous, rugged raw, majestic beauty of our natural environment.
Average height 220cm.
24 components are completed in this series.
Works from this series have been shown in public galleries, juried into international shows and are in corporate and private collections in the United States and Canada.
